"The feedback on our Web site has been immensely favorable. Users are impressed with how clean, professional and useful the site is. Working with the Ajenda team has been a real pleasure: they went above and beyond to develop a site that considers the unique needs of our organization and our users, and delivered the site efficiently and at the highest professional standards."

"Our site's interface is very functional and intuitive. Ajenda developed an excellent site administration tool for our Web editor that makes changing and updating the Web site a seamless and easy process."

Mary Ebeling, Manager, Content Development and Research,

Business Challenge: Winning Workplaces is a not-for-profit group that helps organizations create great workplaces. Their goal is to provide employers with practical and affordable people practices that result in increased profitability and productivity. Winning Workplaces offers information, training, ideas, consulting, and easy-to-use, affordable tools to small and midsize organizations. They asked Ajenda to assist with the creation of a Web site, including a content management system, as one avenue towards reaching their goal.

Solution: Ajenda created an information architecture and storyboards that gives users a sense of what is in each section and emphasizes high priority tasks. We assisted with evaluating content management system options. The selected system was customized using open source tools including MySQL, PHP, and Apache. This tool is tailored to the Winning Workplaces site and allows the Winning Workplaces staff to add/edit/delete content and images throughout the site using simple Web-based forms. The final steps integrated templates with the back-end content management system, input content into the database, and train the Winning Workplace staff on the new system.

Impact: Now practical and affordable information and tools are available online to help small and midsize organizations create great workplaces. The site includes workplace best practices information; easy-to-implement solutions; access to on-site consulting and training; a library of success stories, books, and articles; a forum to share ideas and ask questions; and many other features. Best of all, the Winning Workplaces team is equipped with a content management system that allows them to continue adding valuable content to the site with very little knowledge of HTML. The ultimate impact will be the creation of great workplaces that generate increased profitability and productivity.
