| Business Challenge:
The Academy for Urban School Leadership is a non-profit organization
founded by a group of Chicago's most prominent business, civic
and education leaders. This exciting program was established to
attract, train and retain outstanding teachers for the Chicago
Public Schools. They wanted a site that reflected the energetic
nature of the program and met their needs for recruiting and sharing
information. An identity system, brochure, and custom photography
were developed hand in hand with the site to launch this new program.
Solution: Ajenda's design strategy focused on the dynamic
nature of the AUSL project. This program represented a real change
in the training of teachers and the identity system was created
to generate enthusiasm and encourage involvement in the project.
In order to translate this to the Web, the work included shooting
original photography of teachers, students, and classes in session.
These photographs were incorporated into an urban design, reflecting
the contemporary nature of the program.
Impact: The auslchicago.org site was launched and the
staff at the Academy have been maintaining the site. The feedback
has been overwhelmingly positive. The site has been an important
means of spreading their mission of improving student achievement
in Chicago Public Schools and they have exceeded their expectations
of number of applications.
